Greetings to all SGCA members:
I have been asked to act as Nominations Chair for the upcoming Stave Gardens Community Association AGM.
In order to perform this task, I have asked the Steelhead Community Association (SCA) to provide me with two independent scrutineers to assist in the acceptance and counting of ballots.
I am now accepting nominations for the following positions:
- Chair
- Secretary/Co-Chair
- Treasurer
- Communications Chair
- Three Directors at Large
In order to nominate a candidate (yes, you can nominate yourself) or be nominated, you must be a member in good standing.
Contact the SGCA at: stavegardenscommassoc@gmail.com to determine if you are currently a member in good standing. Please note that only about 1/3 of the people on the known members email list are currently members in good standing.
Nominations will be received at richardrosenthalphd@gmail.com, until Saturday, November 7. As per prior practice, I will keep the identities of the nominators confidential.
Any position that has only one accepted nomination (or less than three for the Director at Large positions) at the close of email nominations will be considered acclaimed and cannot be challenged by a floor nomination at the AGM. Floor nominations will be accepted for any position for which no nominee has been put forward and accepted.
I have been advised that the SGCA insurer informed the previous Board that they would not renew the liability coverage when it expired in April 2026. I have also been advised that the board searched for a replacement insurer without success and, as a result, all but one director resigned.
The following timeline has been created to facilitate the election of a new Board of Directors.
